Submit the application form with name, email, role, organization, country, LinkedIn or GitHub profile, self-selected cohort(s), and a two-sentence statement of intended use. Optionally opt in to the public Early Adopters wall.
Maxim is allocating 300 licenses across 13 cohorts as a thank-you to the developer community that shaped the product, and as a deliberate investment in the early adopters who will shape what it becomes. Every license is valid for 12 months from issue, machine-bound per the IP-protection architecture, and governed by the same Terms of Service as commercial licenses.
Qualified applicants are reviewed on a rolling basis against the published criteria for each cohort. Decisions are communicated within seven days of application. The program closes automatically when 300 licenses have been issued.

Applications are reviewed against the specific cohort criteria. The Friends & Family cohort is pre-seeded and does not require an application. The High-Impact Contributors cohort is by invitation only. All other cohorts use the open application form.
Yes / no decisions are communicated within seven days of a complete application. Approved applicants receive a license coupon code and redemption instructions in the same email. Not-yet-approved applicants are kept on file until the cohort closes.
Licenses are redeemed through the standard checkout flow using the issued coupon code. The 12-month clock starts on redemption, not on issue. Every license is machine-bound to the redeeming device per the published IP-protection architecture.

| Duration | 12 months from redemption, not from issue |
| Billing | Zero — a coupon code is issued at application approval |
| Renewal | Offered at 50% off year two for engaged adopters |
| Transferability | Non-transferable — licenses are machine-bound per ADR-005 |
| Revocation | Only for material Terms-of-Service violation (abuse, resale) |
| Mid-cycle upgrades | Permitted — pay prorated difference to the higher tier |
| Mid-cycle downgrades | Not permitted within the 12-month window |
| Referrals | Each adopter receives one referral code worth 20% off first year for up to five referrals |
Abuse-mitigation details (deduplication, machine-binding, coupon uniqueness) are disclosed in the license FAQ. The full Terms of Service governs every license, including program-issued licenses.
Applications are reviewed on a seven-day SLA. If your cohort is full, your application is kept on file and considered for adjacent cohorts before the program closes.
